Spanish language school trips to Costa Brava
Spain’s beautiful Costa Brava, which extends along the coast north east of Barcelona makes a fantastic base for groups wanting to spend a bit of time exploring Barcelona’s highlights, whilst also taking advantage of stunning coastal landscapes, sandy beaches, more relaxed coastal vibe and good range of hotels. The Costa Brava is a fantastic base for exploring not only Barcelona, but also the Dali Museum in Figueres and the medieval architecture of Girona to the north and the stunning landscapes of Montserrat to the south, as well as the beautiful beaches of the coast itself. Like Barcelona, the Costa Brava region is Catalan speaking, but signs are in Catalan and Spanish and there are plenty of opportunities for students to practise conversation with the locals.

Excursions

Camp Nou Experience
Immerse your students in the atmosphere of the phenomenal Camp Nou football stadium – home of Barcelona Football Club since its construction in 1957. With a capacity of 98,787, making it the largest stadium in Europe, we’ve seen school groups amazed by both its size and energy.

WaterWorld (Lloret de Mar)
One of the best water parks in Western Europe, Water World is a sprawling leisure complex of pools which include wave machines, waterslides and chutes – perfect for cooling off in the Spanish summer heat. With several restaurants and pancake houses to re-energise, we know your students will love a day to let loose here.

La Sagrada Familia
The symbol of Barcelona, La Sagrada Familia is a must-visit when staying in this Catalan city. Arguably one of the most spectacular basilicas in the world, Gaudi’s original design is still unfinished to this day. Though breathtaking from the outside, the inside of the church doesn’t disappoint either – we’ve seen students gaze in awe at the colourful stained glass windows and towering columns.

Las Ramblas
One of the best-known features of Barcelona, this magnificent mile-long boulevard was originally a mountain stream that ran alongside the 13th century second wall of the city. Now, flower stalls and street art line the pavement, between dozens of shops, restaurants and human statues that we know your students will love exploring.

Spanish Lesson
Take the opportunity to learn from native-speaking Spanish teachers. Lessons can be tailored according to the requirements of your group.

La Boqueria Market
Spend an afternoon exploring the various food stalls at La Boqueria Market, considered to be one of the largest food markets in the world. Here, you can sample local cured meats, fresh fruit juice or mouthwatering churros as you make your way around. We’ve found this excursion is really popular with school groups, and an excellent chance for students to try out their Spanish language skills.

Visit Montserrat
One of the most impressive natural sights across Spain, the Montserrat mountain range is famous for its 9th-century Benedictine monastery, which enshrines the image of the Virgin of Montserrat. Students will be inspired by the dramatic location of this tour, which reflects the spiritual heart of Catalonia. We recommend taking the cable car for spectacular views across the entire range.

Parc Guell
Stroll around the stunning natural area of Parc Güell – a public area full of exquisite mosaic sculptures and buildings – and discover the earlier works of Antoni Gaudi, which are reminiscent of his naturalist phase. An outdoor space where students can enjoy both the architecture, the sun’s rays and a snack, we think the park is a great pitstop between the city’s sights.

Port Vell
One of Barcelona’s leading tourist attractions, Port Vell has several activities for your students’ entertainment, including the Maremàgnum shopping mall, IMAX cinema and Europe’s largest aquarium. The old harbour’s history dates back to around the 4th century BC, when it was occupied by the Laietani.

Dali Museum
Described as the world’s largest Surrealist object, the Dali Theatre-Museum in Figueres is a sight to behold, its striking exterior demanding attention. This theatre is the final resting place of artist Salvador Dalí, who is buried in a crypt below the stage, while the museum showcases all the various aspects of Dali’s art, including some of his greatest masterpieces.

Girona Visit
A beautiful medieval city, Girona was once the capital of Catalunya (Catalonia) before Barcelona took its place. A city with enormous historical and cultural prowess, Girona’s highlights include its Jewish Quarter, the Cathedral and the twice-weekly market with typical Spanish produce.

Beach Visit
The Costa Brava is renowned for its beautiful coastline and excellent beaches. No matter which resort you’re staying in, there will be a great beach to try!

Cookery workshop & meal
Take the chance to cook Spanish specialities from scratch with this cookery lesson. We’ve seen students really enjoy getting involved in these lessons, where they’ll learn traditional Spanish cooking methods, put them into practise, and then end the session by eating the dishes they’ve prepared.

PortAventura (Salou)
One of Europe’s most exciting theme parks, Port Aventura captures the culture and atmosphere of regions around the world, with themed areas based on the Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, Mexico and the Wild West. A fun and relaxing excursion one hour outside of Barcelona, we know students recharge during a day spent here, readying them for more sights back in the city.
